How many of you buy furniture so you can display your bears or dolls? Chairs, wagons, horses, rockers, stools, etc.

I have been buying some chairs and stools lately so that I can display my dolls better at shows. I also sell at the furniture that I have.

Today I found this old brass rocker at one of the thrift stores. It was worn and dirty and the seat cushion was beyond repair. The brass on the rocker I tried to clean and thought I could polish it but it was half worn off so I got a can of flat black enamel spray paint and sprayed it. Then I made two cushions with a scrap of teddy bear fabric I had got from another thrift store some time ago. Here is the result...I think it turned out well.
It is good size and I am showing it also with a 15 inch doll sitting in the chair.

Oh yes.. I heartily agree.. bears and friends should have home comforts like the rest of us. I love that little rocker.. wish I could fit in it myself!
I bought a lovely old French doll's bed for my teds and a very kind and gifted friend made a patchwork quilt for it. There is a lovely original French ticking mattress with it too..
Sweet dreams are made of this...:)

I bought a miniature chair of about 5cm and two "antique looking" baby carriages. I have not really seen any furniture at the fairs and shops where I have been.

Eva you did a great job with the chair.:happy3:

Wabbit58 your French doll's bead with the quilt is so sweet "happy6:

The furniture idea sounds cool, but my bears like to sleep on my bed because it's big and soft. I also keep a bunch of bears on the guest bed in my office.

Love the old carriage Elize. Can't find anything like that here. I have several wicker chairs and some wooden stool and wooden chairs. I have ordered 4 chairs from a guy who makes them for me. They are really toddler size children's chairs but people like them and they work for the bigger dolls.

I have one antique chair that I painted white and painted a bee hive on it. (It was in really bad shape so had to be sanded and painted to be used!) I also have one antique little stroller. I have several antique beds including a beautiful mahogany baby cradle! They are all full of baby dolls and bears! I also have a nursery with a crib full of babies!!!

Thanks Eva, I bought this long ago from someone who imported it from the East, but it did not sell that well so the guy stopped importing.

I found this cradle in the thrift shop this past week and then the basket I found a couple of weeks ago. The cradle now has a mattress, sheet, pillow, blanket and doll in it and the basket...well I bought it to turn into a carrier for a doll but right now it has found a home for a few of the bears I still have left to sell.

I'd like to find a crib or cradle or something like that where my bears can hang out. Right now the guest bed is absolutely covered with bears and I've got a cabinet with bears on it. There are also some plushies on top of some boxes in here. I think a crib would be cool to put them so maybe they would be more organized. Right now what I've got is a heaping pile of bears.

I don't really have much "bear furniture", because the bears just take up all the space on the "human" furniture.
But I do have one "chaisse lounge" which I like very much and which is great for photographing the bears. This is a lovely French teddy called "Clémence" with her own little teddy, both made by bear artist Claudie Reymond (ours des quatre saisons).

Great lounge Peter. The bears are cute too :mamabear:

Jessie, when you are at the thrift store, look or ask if they have any baby furniture. You have so many babies that you need something big to put them in. A regular baby crib would work nicely for you. It doesn't even need to be in real good shape because you bears don't weigh that much. Ask about if they ever get any small children chairs or use large baskets for your bears. The basket I am using is 24 inches long and 10 inches wide and it hold lots of bears. You have to think outside the box sometimes.
