Steiff Cocker Spaniel Dog

I saw this Cocker Spaniel dog in an antique store for quite some time and when I opened my birthday presents out popped the Spaniel. He does not have any markings, labels, buttons but I found a similar dog on Ebay and it is described as a Steiff Gold Cocker Spaniel.

He is only 11cm tall, has plastic black and white eyes and a tiny knob tail. The mohair on the ears is much longer than the mohair on the rest of the body.

congrats, not only on your cute steiff spanial, but also on your first "antique shop aquisition..." may it not be your last either!!

i have the same little spanial - with button and tag remains... so you can be very sure that you have a little steiff revue susi - produced 1959 - 1967, originally with red collar and tag with her name on it.

TushTeds thanks for confirming my Cocker Spaniel as a Steiff - I am so happy, never thought I would see any decent Steiff animals or teddy bears in any shop in SA.
