My new bear...just L@@K!!

I am so very proud and delighted to introduce you to ....Blue!! (So clled for obvious reasons!).

Wubbie, I will describe him now.....he is big, solid in parts but floppy and squishy and cuddly in the middle. He is a beautiful blue colour, all his joints move, oh, yes and he has bluse eyes and a blue stitched nose. He has a Mrrythought label on his right foot and a bit higher than the right ankle at the back he has another Merrythought label stating that he is No. 49 of 80. So he is a very special bear, not old but I think maybe 1990's??
Can anyone help me date him? :?:

He is a much nicer colour blue than shown, what do you all think of him? I haven't been so excited about a bear for a long time!!

I also have a small Steiff bear with blue eyes. :cute:

This bear is not a traditional Merrythought bear. Companies like Merrythought and Deans have artists that make bears for them and I think your bear was made by an artist for Merrythought.

What exactly is printed on the label, maybe we can trace him that way?

The foot label is a proper Merrythought one (Merrythought, Ironbride, Shropshire, hand made in England. Other label says"Edition strictly limited by Merrythought", on reverse"number 49 of 80 only.then, there is another label under that referring to cleaning (sponge only etc) and on reverse of that, it says Merrythought etc again, contents all new materialsOH6448 EN and reg no P.A. 169...well, you asked!!! :dance1:

Can anyone shed any light on this?
