Our Teddybearsforum-bear is going on a "Worldwide beary adventure". Please help us to give him a name.
Once he has a name and his little t-shirt - I'll post a picture of him on his first adventure.:Winking:
Anyone can invite him for his next adventure. All you need to do is, is to take a picture of him on his adventure, post the picture on the forum, feed him and give him a place to stay.;) When he is ready for his next adventure you must please take him to a post office and help him to get to his next adventure.:very happy:

What about "Sean". We love to have him with us here at Bear Essentials & Silver Bear Centre in Ireland to meet Seamus our puppet bear. We would specially invite some local children to take him out on an adventure trip to the UNESCO global geopark. Looking forward to all his adventures is Anke :)

Tillybears contacted me by email and this is her suggestion:
"I think we should call ted - captain ted - because he'll be commondeiring the continent!"

elize
27th August 2008, 08:12
Why not call him Pandemic or Pan Demic [ie worldwide!] Pan [for short!]
Tricia [my other half] spent quite some time in Sandton, when she emigrated to SA. She loved it and taught aerobics and dance there some 20+ years ago!
We went to Capetown, Sun City and the Kruger in 2003 and both of us WILL come back some time in the future.
All the very best ........Richard .....[Teddies of Trenode]

As regards the bear's name that's always tricky to choose; all depending on their character. Maybe "MUNDO" - it's the Spanish word for "WORLD". We'll try and think of some other names, then let you know to see what you think.
Best wishes, ecobears - FLIX, CATALUNYA, ESPANA.

Hi Elize
Why is teddy travelling with a UK passport? Is he not a South African bear, or is is easier to get thru customs on a foreign passport

Carol, You are right, Gulliver is a South-African bear but getting a passport for him in South-Africa is an impossible task. It is much easier to get through customs on his foreign passport.

There was even time to play with the building blocks. I really enjoyed the last part when the teacher placed me next to the globe. She even explained to all the little friends that I am going to travel to Australia and that I had my own passport. What a fun filled day I had"happy6:

WHAT WONDERFUL photos!! everyone looks soo happy and like they are having such fun..:dance1:

Well Gulliver has arrived in sunny South Australia!!!! he has been telling all the gang about his trip he had and about the party he had at the HappyDaysNursery School. I took a photo of Stanley, Flynn and Phillip welcoming Gulliver with a cup of tea out on our front porch and some of the guys helping him out of his box!

We have made plans to take Gulliver around the sights of our fair city and we hope to visit my daughter, Ellie’s school this week. My hubby wants to show Gulliver how to fit a tyre at his business too (boys stuff) lol!

So we have loads to do and Gulliver and I are looking forward to getting to the Barossa for a wee tipple!

We will keep you all posted !!

Fab pictures!

I wish I could welcome him to UAE too. But it will be a little while as things are crazed here, and we are still travelling around a lot. Yet next year we will probably give him a grand welcome to UAE/India (wherever we finally settle down; unsure at the moment). Yay!

He would feel right at home with them! :) There are amazing places to see in both countries, so wherever I settle down I am sure Gulliver would have a nice time! :)

Hi all! Well folks, sadly Gulliver and I haven’t had the chance to get to the Barossa and see the things we wanted to, soon after Gulliver's arrival I lost a dear friend in a tragic accident, this left me totally devastated and with lots to do to help support her family...so I wasn’t able to take poor old Gulliver to the places I wanted to.

My Husband and Daughter felt very sorry for him and at least took him to my husbands workshop for a day to help out, here are some pictures of that day, you can see Gulliver and Ellie my daughter sitting inside my 1956 Morris Minor (what a little hot-rod!) Gulliver is changing a tyre on a race car!! And wanted a photo with a funny old sign he found.

As it is right now I will need to go spend some more time with the family of my friend and so will send Gulliver onto his next destination. Elize, would it be possible to have the address of his next stop and I will pack him up and bid him a fond farewell.

Thank you for letting Gulliver come visit, sorry it wasn't more fun :(

Well, I'm staying for a while in Wiltshire in England. Wiltshire is famous for its stone circles and white chalk horses.

So I started my holiday by visiting the Adam and Eve stones on the outskirts of Avebury. Avebury has a very large stone circle, 1 mile in diameter. It used to have two avenues of stones leading to it. One is still in place - I'm going to visit there soon - but these two stones are all that remain of the second avenue.

Don't they look amazing, just standing alone in the field?

Honeysuckle Bears
9th December 2008, 10:44
Next stop . . .

This is Caen Hill. Caen Hill consists of a series of sixteen locks in close succession. It was the only way to get the Kennet and Avon Canal up the steep hill. All in all, in approximately two miles there are 21 locks, however, Caen Hill is the really famous bit. It takes four hours for a narrow boat to navigate the locks on Caen Hill.

We arrived here really early, before Helly had to go to work. The large ponds you can see are the means by which the water is regulated so it doesn't ever flood.

9th December 2008, 19:27

Today I visited Silbury Hill. It was a very cold start to the day . . . brr!

Silbury Hill is the largest man made hill in Europe and no one knows why it is there.

It has been excavated lots of times and there is nothing inside it.

Some people think it may have had something to do with ancient fertility rites - I'm not sure what that is . . . Helly did explain a little but I think I'm a little too young!

From The Adam & Eve stones you can just see the top of Silbury Hill, so perhaps it had something to do with the Avebury stones?

For what ever reason it's there, it certainly looks impressive. It's right by the main A4 road and a wonderful sight.

You can also see it from West Kennet Long Barrow, so perhaps it had something to do with burial rites too (Helly explained that to me too!)

18th December 2008, 20:02
Next stop, The Avenue.
Helly set off really early for work this morning so she could get all the sites in as it was such a gorgeous - if cold - morning.

Do you remember I told you about the Adam and Eve stones? Well, this is the avenue. It stretches for half a mile and many of the stones are still in place. Others have been replaced with concrete blocks to show where they used to be.

This is the most famous avenue. many people don't know that Avebury had two.

Honeysuckle Bears
20th December 2008, 11:59
Well, I can't visit The Avenue without stopping in Avebury itself.

Avebury stone circle is so vast and, unlike Stonehenge, you can walk among the stones.

What a lovely way to start the day. Here are just some of the views of the circle. I started at one side and walked all the way around. The road to Swindon goes straight through the village and through the centre of the circle. This is the route Helly drives along every morning to work

20th December 2008, 12:04
I also visited the village High Street, which looked really pretty with all the frost.

Can you see me? I'm sat on a ledge on one of the largest stones, people call it 'The Devil's Seat'.

It's my final evening so I'm snugged up by the fire in a perfectly sized rocking chair. I need to warm up and dry out after all that fun.

I'm off to Scotland next but there's so much still to do here.

Perhaps I could come back again in the future, during the summer when I can get out more? Helly & Steve would love to have me back.

Right, next stop Scotland . . .

Just to let you know that Gulliver arrived in Dundee at lunch time (13 Feb 2009) . The snow arrived yesterday, obviously to keep him company as he had so much of it in England. Anyway I have had a look on the site and cannot figure out how to upload pics there so am sending this to you in the meantime.

When he got here he sat on my desk (I work from home) and said hi to my little furries who stay there. Then one my daughter caught sight of him he promptly went out to help Shanna and her friend Steffan to continue building a snowman.

Shanna loaned him a little coat fo help keep him cozy. Later we sat down to dinner but Gulliver was happy with biscuits and a glass of wine (I tricked him it is really blueberry juice) sshhhhhh.

More info and pics later :o)

He is just so cute.

He is a very proactive fellow and helped me already to adopt a polar bear with WWF for St.Patrick's Boys National School for a year. Thought I would add some pictures of Gulliver and our granddaughter. Alyssa is 8 years old and loves bears. We took him with us when we went to the old western gold mining town but he didn't want to get out of the car. I think he was afraid of the burros that roam the street of the town. I did get a couple of pictures of Alyssa with the burros so that everyone could see that they come right up to you and of course want to eat. Carrots are sold in all the shops for the burros. It is very hot here right now. Over 100 degrees F every day so we are not getting out much but Gulliver is enjoying all of the bear friends he has met at our house.
