As an artist I find it easiest to sell my bears to shops.

I have not done a bear fair but I do sell my bears and dolls at craft fairs. I have been doing this off and on for thirty years. My website only started last November and I have done pretty good with one good wholesale order to a store and then several to individual customers.

I only do one face to face show a year now, the rest of my bears are adopted from online shows or my website.:papabear:

I think more and more artists are doing online teddybearshows rather than face to face teddybearshows:confused:

I'm new Artist Making Teddy in Crochet and also sewing (sorry for my English, I'm French in Quebec). I see that it is verry difficult to find a best place to sell my Creations. On website ? Person to Person ? I don't know the best choice for selling.
Can you help me.
Many thanks for your help :papabear:

Welcome to the forum Belani.
I don't think there is one good way to sell your bears. I sell on my own website, on other websites, at craft fairs and am on several forums where I get some sales. Plus everyone I talk too, I tell them about my bears and even have a sign on my car with my website, email address and phone number. The more you get your name out there, the more chance you will have to sell your bears. It takes a lot of advertisting in one form or the other to get people to even look at your bears and then more time for them to start buying.

Belani there are lots of ways to sell your bears like Eva said. You must let people know about your bears. You can also take some bears to craft shops or shops that sell teddy bears or soft toys.

Hi
I don't sell stuff I make (I leave making them to the experts!!!), but I resell plush and some collectible stuffed toys on eBay. When I was made redundant at my day job in June, I ramped up my selling on eBay and now sell collectibles, dinnerware, etc too.
I joined twitter and facebook, and got myself a crude website that directs people to my eBay store at the moment, but I plan on trying to sell some special items on the website in the future.
I post some auctions on twitter and facebook, send out emails when I have "sales" and hand out business cards to everyone!!
Once you build followers on all these sites, they check back and become repeat buyers.
I think the same principle would apply to selling artist bears. You need to get yourself out there people find you. You need to make sure you are in the search engines of google, yahoo, bing etc, and the twitter etc sites help do that! Its all free and you just have to figure it out as you go, and you learn little tricks to attract people!
Good luck!

Oh, my website is www.mandicrafts.vpweb.ca (http://www.mandicrafts.vpweb.ca)
and my domain www.mandicrafts.com (http://www.mandicrafts.com) which only cost 7.95 per year, sends people to my ebay store.
Check it out. It may help you "get out there" too!

For those of you who are in South Africa, there is an online craft market, where you can upload as many bears as your like for a fee of R30.00 per month. For more information look at the site www.crazyaboutcrafts.co.za (http://www.crazyaboutcrafts.co.za)

I sell most of my bears through my website but I have participated in a few shows and for the first 10 years I sold my bears in my retail shop.
