Just curious how many others still sleep with a teddy bear or stuffed animal? Santa brought me "Henry Dog" for Christmas back in 1975. Created by Animal Fair, if you've ever seen the cartoons of Hong Kong Phooey, MY Henry Dog looks identical to Henry in the cartoons.

My Henry Dog has survived my childhood abuses, being slept with, drug everywhere...including any and all family trips. He's been accidentally left out overnight (causing one black ear to fade to blue) Mom's done numerous repairs on him. The felt tongue is long gone. I remember being dedicated to ever so slowly picking off his nametag....he has the cutest bellybutton still. And he's my HenryDog!

Since him I've had numerous sleeping buddies, including a pellet filled bunnyrabbit, Gund's Honey bear, a raccoon from an unknown Chinese maker of the 80s, and most recently a red chenille teddy bear from Fred Meyers. Each and everyone I've adored beyond belief, and each and every one has stood up night after night of being choked, cuddled, and slept upon. With each squished face and disfigured body I tend to love them all the more.

So who are your buddies? Who are your companions of the night? Who give you good dreams and guard you as you sleep? Or am I the only nutjob in the world who's an adult and still sleeps with her teddy :rolleye::yawn:

Hi Debbie!

Don't worry - I'm sure we are many, many to share our beds with bears and critters - even if our physical childhood is far behind us!
There are a big, big and soft polar bear , a big brown "noname" Teddy and a smaller bear, stuffed with pellets on my bed.
The big ones have to sleep on the floor - after all, my husband wouldn't agree to sleep on the sofa :o- but the small one remains in my hands all night long.
Maybe it's a little bit hard to understand for NOT-ARCTOPHILEs  ......
nevertheless!
I allways believe in my slogan:
Teddybears dry our tears and give love and tenderness to everybody .

Teddy bears do have
1) a heart full of love
2) ears to listen
3) arms for hugging
4) a body to cuddle

so what?!!:)

Hi Ladies, what lovely stories.

If you don’t have a bear in or on your bed at night with you then I think your really missing out.

I was given a Russ Tennyson by my Aunt when I was going through cancer treatment, he is the cuddliest and most loving teddy I have, he listens to my woes and always hugs me tight all night. My hubby is a little jealous of him but who cares, he gets hugs too, but Tennyson gets the lions share for sure.:cloud9:

I was given my Russ Tennyson by my dad - who bought him in Spain at the Airport. He is always on my bed with all my other Teddies.:dance2:

I used to sleep with a bunch of bears and soft toys till I got married. Now of course hubby shares the bed and so my bears are moved to their own little spot in the room. :) But whenever I take a nap in the daytime, I always hug a bear! :) They make me feel so loved and understood, somehow.

I have always felt that a teddy bear is the ultimate best gift anyone can ever get or give. :)

I still sleep with my little stuffed dolphin, Dory. :) I also have a plushie of Wilt, a character from the cartoon Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends whom I call "CuddleWilt." There's also Carol, my Wild Thing, and Mater, the tow truck from "Cars." "happy6:

One of the counselors at my elementary school once tried to "break me of the habit" of sleeping with a stuffed animal, and my mom went along with her and sent me to bed with a heart - shaped pillow every night. So, I took to hiding my Good Night Moon rabbit under my pillow, and once I got upstairs and into bed, I'd take my Night Night Bun out of hiding and sleep with him. I sure fooled them!

I had several people in my life like that. They said it was childish, but since I found out I'm an arctophile I just tell them to take a walk.
