I made my first teddy bear in April 2002. He has got a soft and cuddly body with very loose limbs, floppy head and a nose that is not stuffed hard enough.
His name is Morris and he is such a cute guy.

You did a great job on your first bear. My first ones were really bad but people liked them. I will have to see if I can find any pictures.

Thanks, the funny thing is I did not know about "needle sculpting" and my husband said take thread and give him a more prominent nose, and I did. I studied needlework for 4 years at college as I wanted to be a primary school needlework teacher - all that knowledge helped a lot.
My first mohair bear is another story:o

I can still remember how proud I was of my first mohair bear I made. :rolleye:
It was not easy to make bears from mohair after I was so used to make bears from faux fur.
Working with faux fur was relatively easy for me, but I can also add that I made a couple of really weird and funny creatures in those early bear making years:redface1:

After 30 years of bear making, I must confess, I have never worked with mohair. I have made bears from just about everything else including wool and real fur. I think I will stick to my faux fur bears because this has worked well for all these years.
