A collection of bears is not complete if you do not have a Cheeky bear. These 2 Merrythought bears are made from the same short pile mohair and I was lucky to find the micro Cheeky (12 cm) from an antique shop.

Merrythought made so many different styles and colours, we have sold quite a lot in the past, but the don't seem as popular these days ....

I fell in live for them at first sight.
I now have almost 40 of them in my hug!!! My cheeky frenzy began in november 2003 only.
Now i am getting quieter as my house does not grow as fast as my hug!:mad2:
This is not a building in live in! we cannot extend it either :rolleye:...

It has been a long time since i made a photo of my whole Merrythought hug... :rolleyes: Maybe some day I will.

Jacques, Merrythought closed for some time indeed not last november but the november before (that means in 2006) for a few months.
They managed to get saved but they had to reduce a lot their activity to mostly collector bears (no more rocking horses etc). Consequently, they had to part with lots of employees.

They never rebuilt their website but they still have it with only a few articles on it about their closing and reopening.
